Looking forward to digging into this project more as well!
novelwriter
novelwriter is a editor for long-form writing. It looks really nice. They describe it as:
A markdown-like text editor designed for writing novels and larger projects of many smaller plain text documents.
It is designed to be a simple text editor that allows for easy organization of text files and notes, with a meta data syntax for comments, synopsis, and cross-referencing between files, and built on plain text files for robustness.
VSCodium
VSCodium is Free/Libre Open Source Software Binaries of VS Code.
VSCodium is a community-driven, freely-licensed binary distribution of Microsoft’s editor VS Code.
Love this project, very polished.
One thing to keep in mind is extensions cannot be downloaded from Microsoft directly. So when searching for extensions you'll see a much smaller list and sometimes distributed from different users then you might see from Microsoft. This is because people forked or hosted extensions separately from Microsoft servers.
There are some extensions that make work easier, and for that you can still download the extension files from Microsoft, and manually install them into VSCodium.
So far everything has been working great!
